We’re only halfway through 2023, but it’s already been a banner year for PlaceWorks. We’re honored to have nearly a dozen projects from across the state, as well as the accomplishments of our incredible team members, receive awards from local, state, and national organizations.

We are excited to announce our 2023 scholarship recipients—Nicole Larson and Alyssa Suarez. The PlaceWorks Scholarship Program was established to provide financial assistance to individuals from historically underrepresented groups pursuing degrees in planning, urban design, architecture, environmental planning, landscape architecture, and related fields.

We've been hard at work supporting local agencies throughout California during the 6th Housing Element Update Cycle. In this cycle alone, our team has helped over 50 jurisdictions achieve adopted and compliant Housing Elements, four of which have already received awards!

As of April 6th, the 2023 application period for PlaceWorks’ annual scholarship program has closed. This year’s recipients will be notified later this spring, and additional information about future application cycles will be announced in the coming months.
