Public outreach with community members and collaboration with the City’s advisory committee was a high priority for the City, which has historically been divided on many development issues. PlaceWorks worked closely with City staff and a 27-member advisory committee to identify items that can be addressed in the short term or must be documented to be incorporated into the other elements at a later date. Over 20  meetings with the advisory committee and 3 community workshops were held; and other activities included interactive mapping exercises (see link below), online surveys, social media posts, e-blasts, cable crawl postings, newsletter preparation, and pop-ups at events such as the city’s Superbowl 10K.
