The Imagine Livermore 2045 project will look deeply at citywide growth, development, land use, circulation, conservation, sustainability, equity, housing, infrastructure, safety, and other significant issues that will affect all residents. Engaging the community on these topics throughout the process is crucial for developing a General Plan for 2045 that speaks to the needs and interests of the Livermore community and will be effectively implemented over time.

Traditional outreach methods include community events where the General Plan team meets with residents where they are; General Plan Advisory Committee meetings open to the public; and Planning Commission and City Council meetings. PlaceWorks is also expanding outreach efforts to hard-to-reach communities through the Livermore Valley Joint Unified School District and nonprofit team member La Familia Tri-Valley / Cultura y Bienestar, as well as by working closely with City staff and a local video production company to produce a series of four short documentaries over the course of the project. Digital engagement tools include a customized project website, ArcGIS StoryMaps, and other interactive online activities.

As part of Imagine Livermore 2045, PlaceWorks also prepared the City’s sixth cycle Housing Element, which was certified by HCD in March 2023, and we will complete the General Plan EIR.
