Woodie Tescher Receives Planning Pioneer Award

It is with great delight that we share that PlaceWorks Principal Woodie Tescher is the recipient of APA California’s prestigious Planning Pioneer Award. For more than five decades, Woodie has served as a leader, teacher, and mentor within the field of planning. Through his extensive project work, his role as a longstanding member of the California Planning Roundtable, his teaching positions at USC Price School of Public Policy and UCLA Extension, and his numerous speaking engagements, Woodie’s successfully advanced the principles of placemaking, sustainability, environmental justice, and smart growth in policies and plans for communities across California.
One of Woodie’s greatest contributions has been his groundbreaking efforts to ensure that comprehensive planning and urban design are closely linked in project development and review.
