Contra Costa County General Plan and Climate Action & Adaptation Plan Adopted

On November 5, the Contra Costa County Board of Supervisors unanimously adopted the County’s first comprehensive General Plan Update in a generation. Every aspect of the 2045 General Plan is built on four key themes: sustainability, community health, economic development, and environmental justice.

PlaceWorks and County staff collaborated to prepare the General Plan in parallel with the Climate Action and Adaptation Plan. Both documents reflect the voices of the residents as expressed in over 170 public meetings.

With these key plans in place, the County is immediately taking steps to create inclusive, thriving, and safe communities and a growing economy that is equitable, sustainable and just. It has been an honor to be part of this innovative process alongside dedicated and passionate County staff. We’re incredibly proud of these plans!
