Tuesday, February 27th: 8:30 – 10:00 am | “Survivor: SFP Island!”
Do you have what it takes to Survive on SFP Island? Can you outwit, out-plan, and outlast your fellow school planners? Using questions based on real-life scenarios, we will take your knowledge of facility planning issues and solutions to the next level. Our panel of experts will judge the answers and award points.

Tuesday, February 27th: 2:30 – 3:15 pm | “CEQA and DTSC 101 for School District Staff”
Don’t bother with long, complicated workshops on CEQA and DTSC. This roundtable will focus on only what school district staff need to know to get projects through these complicated processes. The roundtable will be conversational in style and at a pace that allows listeners to absorb the information and ask questions.

Tuesday, February 27th: 2:30 – 4:30 pm | “Game Changer”
A 13.7-acre site and an existing 335,000-square-foot office building is being repurposed into 21st-century teaching spaces for multiple collaborative high school programs. The workshop will cover strategic planning, partnering, and negotiating with private and public entities and the many obstacles the team had to overcome, including acquisition and conversion to a DSA-approved facility, securing adequate funding, resolving CEQA findings, and many other challenges.

Wednesday, February 28th: 9:00– 10:30 am | “What You Need to Know on What’s Happening Now”
This workshop will cover some of the top trending issues that will impact K–12 facilities—e.g., the new Federal Tax Bill, Proposition 51, SB 743, and changes to the CEQA Guidelines; how to plan and prepare for facilities projects with labor shortages and escalation; and lastly, ensuring that you have the latest information out of Sacramento.
