Los Angeles County General Plan EIR Certified

The LA County Board of Supervisors certified the countywide general plan EIR on March 24 and indicated its intent to adopt the general plan, planning a second reading of the resolutions before final adoption. The Antelope Valley Area Plan EIR was also certified, on November 12, and the board will probably adopt both plans at the same time. PlaceWorks prepared both EIRs.

The Southern California Association of Governments announced that it will recognize the LA County General Plan as an “outstanding project in green region, active transportation, and integrated planning” at the regional conference in May. Although SCAG’s announcement did not specifically mention the EIR, the county intends to recognize PlaceWorks at the awards ceremony.
