Susan Miller Dorsey High School Redevelopment

The district hoped to prepare a categorical exemption for a new gymnasium and classroom building, but the high school, originally constructed in 1937, met the criteria for listing in the National Register of Historic Places or the California Register of Historical Resources. Also, the new classroom building was only 60 feet from the new Exposition Light Rail Transit Line. We provided technical assistance by conducting a Historic Resource Assessment and a Noise Assessment to identify impacts that would preclude a categorical exemption. Both studies found no significant impact.
