Placer County Sustainability Plan

The Placer County Sustainability Plan provides a comprehensive strategy to reduce GHG emissions and adapt to changing climate conditions. The Plan reflects the varied economies and attributes of Placer County—suburban communities, agricultural areas, forests, and the tourist and recreation-based economy of Lake Tahoe—and streamlines environmental review for new development projects, while supporting County goals and State regulations. It also provides strategies for reducing GHG emissions to meet short- and long-term State goals and for improving community resiliency to reduce the threat of injury, death, and property damage from climate-related hazards. The Plan’s implementation support tools will help County staff identify funding, implement policies, and monitoring their effectiveness.
