Placer County Climate Action Plan

Placer County’s climate action plan will result in a comprehensive strategy to reduce GHG emissions and adapt to changing climate conditions. The CAP will reflect the varied economies and attributes of Placer County—suburban communities, agricultural areas, forests, and the tourist and recreation-based economy of Lake Tahoe. The CAP will streamline environmental review for new development projects and support county goals and state regulations. The CAP will also reduce GHG emissions to meet short- and long-term state reduction goals and improve community resiliency to reduce the threat of injury, death, and property damage from climate-related hazards. Implementation support tools will assist county staff with funding and implementing policies and monitoring their effectiveness
