MARKETING ASSISTANT – Full Time

Job Description:

PlaceWorks is seeking a Marketing Assistant to help produce proposals, statements of qualifications (SOQs), and other business development materials. The Marketing Assistant will work closely with the business development manager, marketing/production team, and project managers from five southern California offices to meet proposal deadlines, often multiple deadlines per week. Candidate must be extremely organized, enjoy working in a fast-paced team-oriented environment, and be willing and able to work occasional (paid) overtime on evenings and weekends.

Responsibilities Include:

  • Coordinate with staff and subconsultants and produce, assemble, and edit text, graphics, covers, and other needed components for proposals, SOQs, and other business development/marketing documents.
  • Produce hard and electronic copies of proposals and SOQs for clients.
  • Input data and regularly maintain databases.
  • Organize, coordinate, schedule, and participate in marketing-related meetings.
  • Develop and maintain standard business development/marketing collateral and tools using Adobe InDesign and Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Assist with coordination related to conferences and special events.
  • Secondary duties include assisting with administrative and/or production tasks, which may include: reproduction room assistance (copying, binding, and assembling documents and mass mailings), receptionist backup, occasional errands.

Qualifications:

Minimum:

  • Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field.
  • Strong attention to detail.
  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills, as well as solid writing, editing, and grammar/punctuation skills.
  • High proficiency in Adobe InDesign and Acrobat, as well as Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Flexibility—in all aspects, especially, job responsibilities and willingness/ability to work overtime or alternate schedules when needed.
  • 2 years in an active marketing or administrative support role.

Desired:

  • Experience working for a consulting firm in a similar position.
  • Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator, as well as Microsoft Access and Publisher.
