Central Region High School No. 13

PlaceWorks successfully managed a complex, multiphased cleanup of a 23-acre site for a new high school. Deep excavation targeted soil from a perched groundwater “smear zone” impacted with volatile organic compounds (VOCs) and total petroleum hydrocarbons (TPH from the adjacent property. A shoring wall was constructed and soil excavated to 45 feet. In all, 16,003 tons (10,669 cubic yards) of impacted soil were removed and transported offsite, and the DTSC cleared the site for new construction without delay.
