Carlsbad Unified School District High School
PlaceWorks provided CEQA documentation for a 153,462-square-foot high school, a 4,000-seat stadium, turf fields, and hard courts. Buildings are terraced along the hillside to provide access to natural light and air, and a drainage path through the site was kept intact, with native landscape and boulders to control the flow of water. The project site is also surrounded by undeveloped land with the exception of a mobile home development at the southwest corner. The most prominent environmental issues were traffic and parking, public access, biological resources, air quality and GHG, and agricultural resources.
