At APA’s National Conference last week, PlaceWorks’ principal David Early moderated a panel discussion, “Safe, Sustainable, and Resilient by Geodesign,” featuring PlaceWorks’ GIS Manager Robert Kain, Rob Matthews from Esri, and Mary Roderick from the University of Washington. The panel explored the concept and practice of geodesign and supporting technologies and their application to planning for green infrastructure and climate adaptation.
David was also the speaker for “5 Ways to Increase Planning Project Success,” using case studies to illustrate how successfully geodesign and GIS technologies can be used to visualize and assess natural and social outcomes of proposed designs and plans. David also showed how PlaceWorks’ GreenScore can be combined with Esri’s GeoPlanner to create new interactive tools.
